Huawei is a major vendor of servers, storage, and cloud solutions for the worldwide HPC market. Intersect360 Research tracks HPC server revenue for Huawei.

In 2019, the U.S. Department of Commerce (DoC) placed Huawei and over 100 of its affiliates on its “Entity List,” restricting Huawei’s ability to avail
itself of U.S.-made technologies and hindering its ability to operate in the U.S. Huawei has reacted by separating U.S.-based personnel into a subsidiary
research arm, FutureWei, which does not manufacture or sell products. These U.S.-focused developments have had a halo effect into Europe and other
regions outside the U.S. and China.
