SUNNYVALE, CA—October 10, 2024— Leading HPC and AI industry analyst firm Intersect360 Research has announced the addition of six new Advisory Committee Members to the HPC-AI Leadership Organization (HALO). The newly-announced members, all leaders in their respective fields, span a wide range of industries and geographical regions.

HALO, launched earlier this year, is a global community of HPC and AI end users from academia, government and industry who collaborate and share best practices. HALO helps shape the future of high performance computing and AI technology development by setting technology priorities that drive Intersect360 Research’s analysis and research, the results of which influence decision-making among HPC and AI vendors and policymakers worldwide. The HALO Advisory Committee provides leadership for the HALO membership in each of their respective regions.

New Advisory Committee members for HALO Americas include:

  • Carlos J. Barrios H, Ph.D., Associate Professor and Researcher at the Universidad Industrial de Santander
  • Elizabeth L’Heureux, Ph.D., Head of HPC at British Petroleum (BP)
  • Marcus Weber, Project Engineer at Caterpillar, Inc.

New Advisory Committee members for HALO EMEA include:

  • Rosa Badia, Ph.D., Barcelona Supercomputing Center
  • Henri Calandra, Ph.D., Total Energies
  • Riccardo Testi, CAE Analyst, Piaggio Group.

The new Advisory Committee members join previously-announced members Gina Tourassi of Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL), Rupak Biswas of NASA Ames Research Center, Frank Indiviglio of NOAA: National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, Brock Kahanyshyn of the Digital Research Alliance of Canada, William Edsall of The Dow Chemical Company, and Chair Dan Stanzione of the Texas Advanced Computing Center (TACC) for HALO Americas; Christine Kitchen of the European Centre for Medium-Range Weather Forecasts (ECMWF), Marek Magryś of Cyfronet, Stephan Schenk of BASF, Gerd Büttner of Airbus, Hatem Ltaief of KAUST, Happy Sithole of CHPC South Africa, and Chair Jean-Philippe Nominé of CEA for HALO EMEA; Satoshi Matsuoka of RIKEN and Chair Mark Stickells of Pawsey Supercomputing Research Centre for HALO Asia-Pacific.

HALO is overseen by Intersect360 Research; analysts Addison Snell and Steve Conway serve as liaisons to HALO’s regional groups, while Paul Muzio serves as the HALO Facilitator.
